Lookbook: Lady Stripes

Lookbook: Lady Stripes

Good morning and happy Wednesday my loves! Hope you’re all having a great week so far and keeping warm because it has been super cold here in Jozi this week! Why has Winter only hit us in full force now when it’s nearing the end of July?? For those who don’t know yet, I’ve finally created a Facebook page for my blog! Actually I’ve had it for some time now but I just haven’t published it, oh I don’t know, maybe because I was embarrassed or I had a fear that no one would like my page! Silly silly me! 🙂 So please go and like my page and share with your friends, I would really appreciate that. I’m also running a little giveaway on my blog, I’m giving away a pack of 6 sheet masks, basically my holy grail product that I cannot live without. I use it twice a week, it helps to keep my skin, soft and supple. If you want to give it a try, click here to enter and follow the simple instructions.

I haven’t worn this navy coat this whole year because it hasn’t been cold enough to but this weekend really got me pulling out all my winter clothes because it was freezing! I decided to wear it with my stripes and a black skirt with stockings of course (it’s too cold not to). I used to think that no one should ever wear horizontal striped clothes because it made people look fat but I was so wrong, horizontal stripes look so much better than vertical stripes. There’s something about vertical stripes that just doesn’t look right for me unless it’s trousers then I think it looks fantastic! I actually wanted to wear my hair in a low bun for this with red lips but I was in a bit of a hurry and I had just washed my hair so it wasn’t quite behaving the way I wanted it to. What do you think?

Lookbook: Rainy Days in Shanghai

Hello my loves! I’ve had such a busy but fulfilling week so far and today I’ll be going to a very exciting meeting! I can’t say anything about it yet because I’m not sure what will come out of it but I’m super excited and I can’t wait to share it with you all when the time is right. This year has truly turned out to be such a blessing and I must thank each and every single one of you for it because without you, there would be no me today! 🙂 In order to thank you all for your undying love and support, I’ll be doing another giveaway on the blog which will be up on Friday so make sure you watch this space! 🙂

If you’ve read my travel posts during my time in Shanghai, you’ll know that it literally poured the first few days we were there. If you want to catch up, click here to read my first post on Shanghai. Their summers are tropical so one can expect lots of humidity and rain during summer. After spending the first night in Shanghai and it rained pretty much none stop, which caused major flooding in and around the city, we decided to stay in most of the morning to explore Lanson Place Jin Qiao and to take some photos. Of course it allowed me to do some work and to catch up on some emails, which I didn’t mind at all.

In the master bedroom, there was a massive window with the most exquisite lighting for photos, as you can see, I couldn’t resist! Plus it made an excellent work space because there were big cushions by the windowsill and plenty of space to relax, so I guess what was missing was a cup of tea. 🙂

Lookbook: Ted Baker Bomber

Lookbook: Ted Baker Bomber

Good morning everyone! Yesterday was only Monday but I’ve almost filled up my week already so while I continue being busy bee for the rest of the day, I decided to post this look a little early. If you’ve been following me on Snapchat (if you haven’t already, you know what to do —-> lovemarylu) I snapped my new purchase on my last day in Hong Kong from Ted Baker. I’m absolutely obsessed with this Ted Baker Bomber Jacket! It’s nothing like I’ve ever seen before and I love that it’s black with beautiful, colourful florals that just pop! I also love the way the fabric feels, it’s super luxurious and I expected nothing less from Ted Baker. I know it’s no where close to Spring and Summer for us but I’m totally ready for it! Can you tell? This is my second outfit of the day in collaboration with Ford South Africa, if you’ve missed my first OOTD, click here. If you would like to find out more, search for #FiestaOOTD on Instagram! 🙂 Hope you enjoy this look!
