Lookbook: Lady Stripes

Good morning and happy Wednesday my loves! Hope you’re all having a great week so far and keeping warm because it has been super cold here in Jozi this week! Why has Winter only hit us in full force now when it’s nearing the end of July?? For those who don’t know yet, I’ve finally created a Facebook page for my blog! Actually I’ve had it for some time now but I just haven’t published it, oh I don’t know, maybe because I was embarrassed or I had a fear that no one would like my page! Silly silly me! 🙂 So please go and like my page and share with your friends, I would really appreciate that. I’m also running a little giveaway on my blog, I’m giving away a pack of 6 sheet masks, basically my holy grail product that I cannot live without. I use it twice a week, it helps to keep my skin, soft and supple. If you want to give it a try, click here to enter and follow the simple instructions.

I haven’t worn this navy coat this whole year because it hasn’t been cold enough to but this weekend really got me pulling out all my winter clothes because it was freezing! I decided to wear it with my stripes and a black skirt with stockings of course (it’s too cold not to). I used to think that no one should ever wear horizontal striped clothes because it made people look fat but I was so wrong, horizontal stripes look so much better than vertical stripes. There’s something about vertical stripes that just doesn’t look right for me unless it’s trousers then I think it looks fantastic! I actually wanted to wear my hair in a low bun for this with red lips but I was in a bit of a hurry and I had just washed my hair so it wasn’t quite behaving the way I wanted it to. What do you think?

Lookbook: Faux Fur Stole

Happy Thursday my loves! One more day till the weekend! 🙂 Since I’ve been blogging full-time, I must say that I am not only happier but no two days have been the same! Some weeks I’ve been extremely busy, running between meetings, lunch meetings, fittings and castings. Other weeks, I’ve been able to unwind a little and think about my next few outfit posts. It has really been an amazing journey so far and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. I’m currently working on a new project and hopefully I will be able to reveal it very soon! The one thing I’ve learnt in the last 6 months is that hard work pays off, it may not pay off immediately but it definitely does in the long run which is why I’ve also grown some patience in the last couple months. Great things take time. 🙂

For those who follow me on social media, you’ll know about my interview with Arye Kellman on CliffCentral yesterday at 3pm where we spoke about my upbringing and also about my blog. Thank you for those who tuned in for support, I really appreciate it because without you, there will be no me today. For those who were unable to tune in, CLICK HERE to catch up. It was my very first interview on radio so I was obviously very nervous and my heart was thudding throughout the entire interview! I’m generally my own biggest critic but I believe that every experience is a learning curve so I’m very privileged to have had this kind of experience. Let me know what you think and what I can improve on? I’m quite open to ideas. 🙂

Today I’ll be posting my final #FiestaOOTD in collaboration with Ford South Africa. Since we are right in the middle of winter, I figured that the feature of a faux fur stole is nothing but appropriate. With the unpredictable Joburg Winter where the temperature can vary from freezing to Summer heat all in one day, I think it’s essential to keep one item with you that will help you survive the freezing cold but you can also shed it very quickly when the temperature rises. With all the rage over faux fur right now, I think a faux fur stole is a wardrobe staple.

Lookbook: Shades of Blue

Happy Friday my loves! Hope you all had a great week! I’m certainly ready for the weekend, I’ve had a killer busy week and now I can finally relax this weekend and reflect on the past week. Of course I can’t end this week without a Friday post, which is my third outfit in collaboration with Ford Fiesta. Since I’m test driving a blue car, I cannot possibly go by without wearing a blue dress in at least one of my posts. I feel that blue is such an electric colour, one can get so much vibrance and energy from it. In this post I’m wearing a cobalt blue peplum dress from Top Shop (for some reason I’ve been pulling out all my Top Shop clothes lately) but I promise that this will be the last Top Shop item for this collaboration. 🙂

Yesterday, I was honoured to be one of the judges for the Caxton Publishing House annual awards, I took part in judging the fashion category. If you’re unfamiliar with them, Caxton House publishes 12 magazines here in South Africa including Rooi Rose, People, Woman and Home etc. It was such a great learning experience for me since I’m fairly new in this industry (print publication), even though I’ve been blogging for about 4 years, there’s life aside from law after all and a great life indeed! 🙂

If you follow me on Snapchat, I mentioned that I went to a very important meeting this week. I won’t be giving you any more details until the time is right but I feel super excited and blessed right now. So many opportunities are coming up for the blog and I absolutely cannot wait to share it with you all! Hard work pays off!
