Hi everybody! Hope you’re all well and having a great week so far! As you know, I went to Cape Town over the weekend to celebrate a friend’s 30th and also to go shark cage diving (more about that experience later). I haven’t been to Cape Town since February and it’s always a city that I look forward to going because I spent 5 great years there while I was a student. As much as I love doing adventurous activities while I’m away, I also think it’s very important to relax and unwind, after all you should always come back from a holiday fresh no?
We arrived on Saturday morning and we decided not to rent a car like always and instead just caught Ubers everywhere we went, which worked very well. As soon as we arrived, we headed to the Vineyard Hotel in Newlands to check in and drop off our luggage bags. If you’ve never been to the Vineyard Hotel, it’s definitely a place I recommend for a meal, a drink or even a spa treatment. The hotel is situated on a 7-acre piece of land by the riverside and currently has 207 rooms luxury hotel rooms. If you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Vineyard is the perfect place to hideaway and spend a weekend in relaxation.
We spent the rest of Saturday at the Waterfront, we had lunch at Willoughby & Co and then shopped around ending off with some tea and macarons at Myatt and we headed back to the hotel to rest before dinner. We initially booked our shark cage diving trip on Sunday but we heard news that due to rough sea conditions, our trip had to be cancelled and rescheduled for Monday. We had dinner at Beluga and had a pretty late night. We slept in on Sunday and had breakfast downstairs at the restaurant, I’ve always had a thing for hotel breakfasts because there’s always an abundance of food and the variety is just superb. We ended up spending a lot of time at the hotel (for once) on Sunday sleeping in and just relaxing and unwinding. Of course I had to do all that in my most comfortable clothing. I picked up these chunky knits from Witchery at the Waterfront on Saturday, they are absolutely to die for, I don’t think I’ve bought a “turtle neck” since high school (or have I ever?). These knits are so soft and big, I could literally spend the entire day and night in them. What do you think?
