Clarisonic Mia 2 Review

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! Thank you to everyone who entered my Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette Giveaway! If you haven’t already entered, I’m sorry, the giveaway is closed and the winner will be announced on Wednesday this week! ๐Ÿ™‚

Today I’m doing a much anticipated review of a product or an item that is much raved about all over social media and by many beauty gurus – The Clarisonic. I was supposed to do this review last year already because I got mine in New York when I went in October last year but I keep putting it off and now I’m finally convinced that it isn’t my diet, my water-drinking, my exercise nor my my skin care routine that has really improved the appearance of my skin, but it’s the Clarisonic. For those who don’t use the Clarisonic, you may think you’re not really missing out on much, after all there are tons of other products out there that does similar things, keyword isย similar… The first couple of times I used the Clarisonic, it wasn’t a magical moment for me, of course I felt like it really did the job with washing my face and my face felt really clean but it didn’t suddenly become my holy grail product. In fact, I would forget about using the Clarisonic every now and again but I told myself that I should use it daily because that’s the only way I’ll be able to tell if it really made a difference on my skin.

The first time I noticed a difference was when I went to Durban to visit my parents for about a week and I didn’t take my Clarisonic with me. It wasn’t a train smash but the whole week, I kept thinking to myself about how I can’t wait to get back to my own home so I can wash my face with the Clarisonic again. After washing my face normally without a Clarisonic, I had a few break-outs, which wasn’t anything major because everyone gets pimples right? Still, I wasn’t entirely convinced that it was the Clarisonic.

The second time I felt a real difference was when I went to London. Again, I didn’t take my Clarisonic with me but if you’ve been to London then you know what I mean when I say it’s not exactly the cleanest cities in the world especially when you catch the underground on a daily basis. I have no doubt that my break-outs were as a result of clogged pores from the general dirt in the city and I didn’t have my Clarisonic there to deep clean my skin. I guess what I’m trying to say is, if you don’t use it then sure it makes no difference in your life (so you think) but once you do, you can’t stop and it will become a holy grail product. Now I take my Clarisonic with me everywhere. I recently bought new heads when I was in Hong Kong, one box comes with 2 heads and I decided to try the super soft brushes forย radiant skin, it’s very gentle and unclogs your pores with its fine bristles.

My Clarisonic came with it’s own casing and a charger. The best thing about the Clarisonic is that it is waterproof, completely, so that you may use it in the shower and the bath. Plus I’ve dropped mine probably 100 times and I’m surprised that it still actually works! ๐Ÿ™‚ A fully charged Clarisonic can last me about 2 weeks (or more) so the battery life is pretty great. The charger is actually magnetic so it clips onto the Clarisonic and it charges from there, no plug-ins required.

Now that I’m a Clarisonic enthusiast, I’m pretty excited to try some other head fittings and buy myself the body one for all-over body. There is a head fitting for all skin types and the different results you want to achieve with your Clarisonic. Unfortunately, it’s still not available in South Africa as yet but I did hear that it’s slowly making its way here. When it does, I’ll be keeping you posted!

With love…xxx

  1. Just a correction. Clarisonics are in South Africa. You can find them at Stuttaford only. Saw them in Cape Town about a month ago but they only have the basic ones.
