Hi All! I’m sorry for being so quiet over the last few weeks, my mind has been elsewhere and I just can’t seem to place it back onto the blog, so I just took it as a welcomed break which makes me feel less guilty when I do something else. However, you’re not completely missing out because I am still active on social media, especially Snapchat, you can keep up to date with what I’m up to on Snapchat so follow me 😉 —> @lovemarylu
I just wanted to update everyone on what I’ve been up to instead of announcing it on social media because then I have the freedom to ramble a little, make you follow me on Snapchat, include some sneaky pictures and so forth. 🙂
If you follow me on social media, you probably know how involved I am with my Golden Retriever puppy Buddy, he’s growing so fast and I really don’t want to miss a single moment of all the fluffiness while he is still a puppy. Having a pet is such a mood lifter because whenever I’m having a rough day or in a bad mood, the sight of him instantly cheers me up, it’s like a high dose of happiness by looking at him. On the down side of having a pet though, just packing up and going is a bit limiting, traveling is only possible when he’s 6 months old, that would be in February 2016. As much as I love and miss traveling, I don’t regret a single moment with Buddy, I want to be here with him, stare at him all day doing silly puppy things. 🙂
We are currently in the process of moving offices. You don’t actually realise how much work it goes into that, finding a bigger space to the size we were searching for was really difficult, added on top of that, location is also really important for us. The most fun part of it all is shopping for office furniture (I guess shopping for anything is fun) and putting it all together, the colour schemes and the arrangements of desks, it all sounds a lot of work and it is! At the same time, I’ve never felt more accomplished and ‘chuffed’ with it all because watching your company grow from strength to strength and moving into bigger premises is probably more satisfying than buying a new car.
I’ve mentioned that I’ve started a new venture for a while, and I’ve pretty much kept it a secret for so long because when I started it, I never realised how long it actually took to execute everything, from design, to logistics, to traveling, to sourcing the products and visiting the manufacturers etc. At the same time, I’m glad I did it all and did everything myself because I can be 100% responsible for everything and know how it all works. I am a firm believer that you cannot take ownership of something if you didn’t lay the bricks from ground up and that’s what I did. Unfortunately I’m still sorting out some logistics but I’ll be launching soon, before the end of this month. 🙂
I’ve included some random photos that were taken over the last few weeks! Chat soon!
We’ve been office furniture shopping and we found such cool gems in and around Jozi.
I did a beauty shoot with Xavier Saer Photography, his work is fit for a goddess! The main reason why I needed some photos was because I needed it for my new venture. 🙂
