Hello Apple Watch 2015

Brace yourselves because the Apple Watch was officially launched yesterday! Personally, I’m an Apple fan, from iPhone to iPads to iMac to Macbook Pro… yes! I’m obsessed to say the least, can you imagine my excitement when Apple announced the launch of the Apple Watch?! 🙂

There are 3 distinctive collections: The Watch, Watch Sport and Watch Edition. Take a look at the images below to satisfy your curiosity. Whats the difference you may ask? Take a look below:

The Watch: The collection is made with stainless steal and black casing, the screen is protected by safari crystal (yes!) and there are many different straps to choose from. You can choose from leather to stainless steel links.

Watch Sport: This collection is made from lightweight aluminium in silver and space grey, the screen is protected by Ion-X Glass which is lightweight and also scratch resistant. The collection comes with matching lumo bands in 5 different colours. Complete style to the active and sporty.

Watch Edition: This collection is of course the top of the range, the ultimate Apple Watch, there are 6 elegant expressions in the collection and each is crafted with 18-karat gold (yes you read right), but it’s no ordinary gold, it has been developed to be twice as hard as standard gold. The collection is sleek in design and will be no stranger to the stylish, wealthy and the famous.

So exactly, what else does it do besides from being able to tell time? You can send and receives messages, calls and emails, this of course is standard. There’s a new function called “Sketch” which allows you to draw something with your finger on your screen and your friend on the other end will be able to watch your drawing and respond! How neat! 🙂 There’s another function called “Tap” which allows you to tap on your screen when you’re thinking of a loved one, your loved one on the other end will be able to feel your tap silently, you can even customise your taps for different people. Ok ok, if that was not enough for you, there’s a function called “Heartbeat” which allows you to record and send your heartbeat to a loved one when you press 2 fingers onto the screen, the heart rate sensor will monitor and record your heart rate then send it off to a loved one.

Sizes:

The face of the watch comes in 2 sizes, the slightly larger one is 42mm and the smaller one is 38mm. Not a huge difference but it will definitely cater for those will smaller wrists (like me!).

Availability:

The Apple Watch is available for pre-order on 10 April 2015 and will start shipping on 24 April 2015. On 24 April 2015, the Apple Watch will be available in the following 9 countries:

  • Australia
  • Canada
  • China
  • France
  • Germany
  • Hong Kong
  • Japan
  • UK
  • USA

(Sorry South Africa, we’re so used to being the bottom of the list by now. We’ll just have to get ours from one of the countries listed above)

Price:

Now there have been much controversy surrounding the prices of the beautiful wrist pieces as there is a huge gap between the starting price and the high-end price. This all depends on what metal the watch is made from. You can get your hands on an Apple Watch from $349 (starting price) and this can go all the way up to a whopping $17 000!

I am super excited to get my hands on the Apple Watch and hope I’ve managed to get you excited too! For more information and pictures, visit the apple website by clicking here.

Favourite Looks by Gavin Rajah MBFW15

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! The weekend has come and gone leaving us with sweet distant memories of the weekend, I used to wake up thinking “where did the weekend go?!” (I still do sometimes). As many of you may know, MBFW came and gone this past week too, going to Melrose Arch was like walking through the streets of New York again buzzing with the young and daring. There were some interesting pieces (interesting to say the least) but then again, you don’t dress the usual when you go to Fashion Week, that’s kind of a rule.

I was privileged to attend the Gavin Rajah show, which took place on Friday, thank you to the MAC Cosmetics family! Of course we took ridiculous amount of pictures but here I would like to show you my favourite Gavin Rajah Resort runway looks this coming season. The collection is very beautiful, with feminine designs and voluminous fabrics that drapes the models’ bodies. It takes you to paradise from beginning to end.

Lookbook: Zara at Hidden Valley

Lookbook: Zara at Hidden Valley

Happy Friday my loves! Now that I’m free from the shackles of confinement, days of the week is just another opportunity for me to explore what I like, what I don’t like and things that have never occurred to me. I no longer hate Mondays (surprise surprise!) but Fridays will always be Fridays! 🙂 Previously I published a post about my day spent at Hidden Valley and my dining experience at Overture, if you missed it click here. I didn’t want to overdo it with the photos so I promised another separate lookbook post on what I wore that day.

It was totally unintentional that the total look was by Zara! The top is actually a recent purchase while we were in Cape Town, I just love how comfy it is. The shoes I absolutely love as well, it just goes with everything and it’s actually my very first pair of kitten heels, I never quite appreciated the petite heels before (it looked granny to me) but I guess it’s how you wear it. What do you think?

Vivienne Westwood sunnies

I watched The Great Gatsby again last night and I absolutely love that movie! Has anyone else watched it or read the book? I’m currently reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I know I’m a little delayed but it’s better late than never right?
