DIY Hairmask for Dry Hair

Hi everyone! Since I haven’t done a DIY in absolute aaaages! I have the perfect winter DIY treat for you. The worst thing that could ever happen to me in the shower is when I reach to get a bottle of whatever and the bottle is sitting there empty. So if you’ve run out of hair mask and your hair needs a boost, whether you’re going somewhere special or just because you decide to be an organic green girl for the day, I have the perfect DIY hairmask recipe for you.

All you need is:

Half an avocado

Half a banana (or a whole one if it’s small)

One egg

2 Tablespoons of olive oil

1. Mash up all the ingredients together until smooth with a fork, or if you’re lazy then use a processor because it’s much faster.

2. Apply to your hair and make sure you really get it in there and don’t avoid the roots because your scalp should get some nourishment too. Put shower cap over hair.

3. Leave in for 15-20 minutes.

4. Rinse with room temperature or cool water. DO NOT use warm or hot water because it activates the olive oil and it will end up being sticky and also hot water cooks the egg.

5. Wash with shampoo as per normal.

6. Voila! Healthy and organic treatment in the comfort of your own home. 🙂

Any other DIY beauty treatments at home that you swear by?

Winter Favourites 2014

Hi Everyone! I’ve never been a fan of Winter, of course it has its perks like now you have a better reason to stay at home under the covers with hot chocolate and series. Whereas in Summer, I feel as if I constantly need to do something, otherwise I’m wasting my time. Winter is for lazing around and occasionally dress up in beautiful layers for lovely dinners with heaters and blankets.

So here are my Winter favourites, they appear in no particular order:

1. Twinings Lemon and Ginger Tea – there’s nothing better than a hot cup of lemon and ginger tea after dinner. Just because it’s Winter, doesn’t mean we can’t be healthy. Eating ginger is known to keep your body warm and lemon aids in digestion. 🙂

2. DiorSnow BB Cream SPF50 – this is my all time favourite BB cream, which I’m sure many of you are sick of hearing already. Even those who have combination skin and starting to feel a little dry in Winter, this BB cream is definitely worth a try. It is extremely hydrating and doesn’t leave a sticky residue. The only downside is that it is limited in shades but given that I generally go quite pale in Winter, the lighter shade (001) is perfect for me. Plus the SPF50 will protect you from the Winter sun.

3. Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne – I’m generally not a fan of scents even with a hint of musk. I tend to go for a floral or fruity scent that is light and fresh. I’ve been absolutely loving this scent this season, although more floral than musk. It does have a hint of musk but there are also notes of Damascus rose, violet, peony, cranberry, patchouli, vetiver and sandalwood. The bottle is simple and luxurious, and such a pleasure to hold.

4. MAC Cosmetics Patentpolish Lip Pencil in Berry Bold – ok I promise that I’ll keep this one short and sweet since I’ve raved enough about this product. Who doesn’t love a just bitten cheeky stain that not only looks great but keeps those lips moisturized?

5. MAC Cosmetics Fix+ Setting Spray – I cannot rave enough about this product! I use it when my skin feels dry, with or without makeup on, when I want a dewy look (because a matte face is so last season) and when I’m done with my makeup in the morning. What a flawless look, MAC Mineralize powder and Fix+ spray is heaven, thank me later!

JM Sweet Almond Macaroon Deluxe Candle (Lid On)

6. Jo Malone Home Candle in Sweet Almond and Macaroon – since it’s Winter and you’ll be spending more time indoors, why not fill your home with the delicious scent of sweet almond and macaroon? Of course, a job well done to Jo Malone for another wonderful creation, trust me, it’s DELICIOUS! Warning: you may not want to leave the house.

 What are your Winter Favourites?

Sharon and Kelly for MAC Cosmetics

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is having a superb week so far. I have some good news for makeup lovers, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne have once once again collaborated with MAC Cosmetics for another fabulous, limited edition, makeup collection! Personally, I’m fascinated with the Patentpolish Lip pencils in Sharon’s collection so I’ll be checking it out at MAC when it hits stores on 7 August 2014. You guys know how crazy I am about my blushes so I’ll definitely be picking up the blush from the Kelly collection. Remember how crazy I was about the Hey Sailor collection 2 years back and I bought a backup of the blush in Sail Away? I’ve pretty much finished the one already so I need to start looking for a replacement. If you follow me on social media, you might know how obsessed I am with the Mac Patentpolish Lip Pencils and there seem to be a range of colours available in the Sharon collection, which I totally cannot wait to try out! For those who aren’t familiar with the Patentpolish Lip Pencils, it’s basically a jump lip tint, I say lip tint because it is not supposed to be as pigmented as lipsticks but it’s more of a water colour, which I personally love because you can get really creative with them. It’s also perfect for the ombre lips (like shown below from one of my instagram pics). They also have a superb shine to it but not sticky like gloss. Overall, they’re just great versatile products to have in your hand bag. So start saving and do some serious arm workouts to prepare yourself for some serious shopping 🙂 Products and prices below.

In the pic I’m wearing Berry Bold, it looks more pink but it’s actually a stunning everyday red (which isn’t really bold) but buildable.
